Following on from the success of last year’s event we held our second a match on the Chewton Mendip Football Pitch on Sunday 9th November 2014.
25 pupils took part and looked extremely smart in their personalized shirts with the names of the fallen printed on their backs. The pictures hopefully tell the story. All the children were also given a packet of poppy seeds to sow in their gardens to act as a further reminder of the sacrfice that has been given by the men of Chewton Mendip, Litton and Ston Easton.
The infamous ‘Gertie’ , suitably attired with her own camouflage net, was also on site to provide cakes and refreshments with all the proceeds going to the Royal British Legion.
